The best ever homemade potato soup

Okay... I just tried this recipe out last night. I got the base of the recipe from allrecipes.com but I altered it so much that really it ended up being my own.

6 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 C Chopped Onions
1 1/2 C Chopped celery
2 C Water
2 C Chicken Broth
8 Potatoes Peeled and Cubed
1lb sausge
1 12oz (or 3 C) SHARP shredded cheese (I prefer HyVee's)
4 Tablespoons All Purpose Flour
2 1/3 C Milk
2 Tablespoons Fresh Chopped Parsley
A dash of celery salt
1/2 tsp white pepper
salt to taste

In a large pot melt the butter. Saute the onions and celery in the butter until tender. Add the water, chicken stock, and potatoes and bring to a boil. Simmer until they're tender.

In a frying pan brown ground sausage... rinse and drain.

In a seperate bowl mix flour and milk until the flour is mostly dissolved.

When the potatoes are tender add the bag of cheese and stir well until melted. Slowly add the flour/milk mixture and bring to a boil until the soup thickens.

Add the parsley, celery salt, white pepper, and salt. Add in the sausage.

It's absolutely YUMMO!

A very special quilt for a very special lady

Ready to be washed and dried for fraying

I made this quilt yesterday. I hate to toot my own horn, but I really really really love this quilt. I'm giving it as a gift... but I am really wanting to make one for myself. It's snowmen, snowflakes, plaid, and candy canes. It's so cozy too! I'm excited to make more and have tons of ideas for more of them! Cody even got into it and wants to make one for someone else... he was cutting squares while I was sewing this one together. :) He quickly realized that making a quilt is a lot of work! Maybe he'll appreciate my hobby more now???

I love being home!!!

I've been able to do some more crafts... well... not as much as I'd like because we've actually been really busy going here and there and having friends and family over. I was trying to get a quilt done for Christmas to give to Cody because he's been wanting a good quilt to snuggle up on the couch with.... but I don't think it's going to get done unless I work on it tomorrow. It's not a surprise anymore anyway... I finally told him that it was supposed to be for him. The weather got bad so he's been home with me and it's been a bit hard to hide from him. :( Oh well! I made a bow holder for miss Allie tonight. I had a creative moment and a vision and some cute paper and an extra letter A laying around and Allie was the first one that came to mind. So.... she'll be getting a bow holder tomorrow! I hope she likes it!

I'm REALLY wanting to start a rag quilt. I'd like to make one for Baylee to give to her for her Birthday. I'm itching to start it but I really should finish my irish chain for Cody first. Oh and if Santa's reading this... I really want a family tree quilt... I'm not so sure I'm up to the task of making one just yet and I have my eye on one that's in an Etsy shop. Have I mentioned that I LOOOOOVE Etsy???????

Here's miss Allie's bow holder... the lighting in the kitchen where i took the pic was HORRIBLE so excuse the terrible quality of the pic.

Holiday Hairbow

I just made this bow this morning for Baylee to wear to a Christmas party. It's layers and layers of ribbon... I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I plan on making several different versions of this in all kinds of colors.

Christmas Cookies

These will be going to the Tuttle family Christmas this evening, along with a few other goodies! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Grand Opening!!!

So I thought with the grand opening of my Etsy shop, I would create a blog so that I can post all my projects on here too. I like to go back and look at what I've done so I can get more ideas! Here's my Etsy shop... I'm SOOOOOO excited to have it up and running and several things added on there!
